I have compiled a list of books (novels & non-fiction) I believe are worth reading... books that make you wish you could continue after they have ended. Some of the books on this list are in agreement with the BBC Top books list, Amazon Bestsellers list and all that, while some havent made it into any of those lists- all however are worth picking up.

The House Of Spirits by Isabel Allende
Chronicle Of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Native Tongue by Carl Hiassen

Right now i'm doing the David Gemmell books... and I think he's whow!...maybe i'll add one or two to my list of books to read... i need to make up my mind which ones i think should get into the list :-)
I am more into the Magical Realism genre of novels, with a particular interest in in Gabrial Garcia Marquez and Isabel Allende. the South American story tellers are a great deal more poetic than their western counterparts. For me it is not just the plot, but the words used are infinitely more important.
Great list of books. Thanks for sharing with us. I've read a few of these.
Thanks for coming by - I havent read them all either but I'm going at it.
